Transfer Deadline Day

So I have been away for awhile and there is a lot i could talk about from the SAG awards to the Royal Wedding Updates but I am going to give my take on deadline day for football aka soccer specifically on Chelsea and Liverpool considering that is what people are buzzing about and ironically although not normal they are two teams I follow but with Chelsea being where my heart truly lies.

The news of the transfer that Chelsea acquired I am ecstatic about. I never thought I would ever see Fernando Torres join the club considering he has been linked to it before and denied a contract during the World Cup. However, now that Fernando Torres actually joined Chelsea today is mind boggling but I still am have trouble wrapping my head around it. I have always been a Torres supporter and think he is a great player but I only ever saw him as a Liverpool player especially how he talked about the club when he joined from Athletico Madrid in 2007. Talking about the clubs history and he even had the arm band "never walk alone" on when he was at Athletico before he came to Anfield. His relationship with the players especially that of Steven Gerrard was a bromance of sorts. Then he signed a new contract after the World Cup seeing the new direction Liverpool was going in since slipping from 2nd position and getting a new manager since Benitez was sacked. Those two events I believe are what really lead Torres to reevaluate if he wanted to stay at Liverpool. Although Liverpool got new management, a new coach who was sacked and then a better one to take his place it was clear once Xabi Alonso left Liverpool, the team was not the same. With Xabi at Real Madrid, a top notch team that was eligible for Champions League games and had a record of metal wear plus top name players I can see why Fernando wanted to be top flight again. Liverpool have had a tough season almost to the point of deregulating and luckily got new investors in Henry who owns Fenway Sporting Company which dealt the big bucks out today too.

But what shocks me is how fast this came and how it came out of no where in a sense. I can understand why Liverpool supporters are in an uproar. Liverpool totally signed away a franchise player. Look at their site his face is plastered everywhere but no worries they want people to forget about Torres as the number 9 and have given it to Andy Carroll who has come from Newcastle. I think he is a great signing to replace Torres but do not believe he is on the same par but time will tell. Him signing along with Suarez definatley sent out the message that LIverpool are ready to return to the top of the league and are willing to spend. However listening to the commentators they have made some good point.... Liverpool have never signed away a top player like this before and have taken the American approach to signing away a player who does not wish to be at the club. The perfect example is Manny Ramirez who was on the Red Sox and wanted more money so they signed him away and got someone to replace him which is exactly what LIverpool did sent Torres packing after he put in his request and got Carroll to replace him. Though looking at the top signings and what they are worth Carroll is a relatively unknown. In my opinion he is not in the same status as Christiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Zidane players that people talk about have metal wear of some sort. But Carroll I believe has potential and will make a mark on Liverpool history. Is he worth £35 million we will see but he is young and hopefully getting off of his injury he will prove he is the investment. I mean there was talk of Capello putting him on the NT squad because of the great performances he was putting on at Newcastle. He is one of the reasons why Newcastle who were deregulated were able to be put back in the EPL due to his great performances the next year.

Although both are signings to talk about what people are buzzing about is how much teams were shelling out for the January transfer window. The total came to around £214 million with Chelsea dishing out £71 million £50 for Torres and £21 for David Luiz the Brazilian defender in just ONE DAY. Both are young players and will definitely bring the age gap up on the older squad but Im excited to see a front of Anelka, Drogba, and Torres!!! What great plays will be made and considering Torres time with Liverpool and how he scored more goals at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea has promise hopefully to the point where we will finally bring home the Champions League title and maybe do a repeat of winning the Premier League. The best news, well not necessarily but will cause drama and everyones eyes will be on it is when Liverpool plays Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Now probably most Americans will be excited for the Super Bowl, which I only watch for the commercials, but I am more excited for this match. What will the Liverpool fans shout, what will their signs say? What will Chelsea fans sign say? WIll they sing Torres or change the lyrics? What will the chemistry be like in the tunnel?? What will the reaction be between Gerrard and Torres. Is Gerrard pissed to the point where he would pull a Wayne Bridge and skip a handshake if Torres starts and is fit?

Overall, I think Chelsea got the better deal but I am a tad biased since I am a huge Torres supporter and have wanted him at the Bridge for some time. Luiz is a great sign too especially since Terry and ALex are old and more prone to injury but both will help Chelsea move forward. Turbo Torres when hes on form he is incredible but the World Cup and this season at Anfield with injuries is understandable to bring up some concern. However he will be at Chelsea for 5 1/2 years and is in his prime. Hello he was on the WC squad and did score the winning goal in the Euros!!! But it still will take time for my eyes to adjust to him in the Chelsea kit considering how much Liverpool merchandise has his number and face on it. I even have a Liverpool Torres jersey, to get a Chelsea one too??? Hmm But he will always have a place in his heart for Liverpool. As they say You Never Walk Alone but Torres definitely has crossed that line and is Walking Alone to the enemy. I seriously never saw this ever coming. I mean Nike did a commercial teaching Spanish to Liverpoolians about Torres. As you can tell I am more excited but still have a little shock of him leaving a team he cared about so much. After a couple of games it should sink in.

Anyways I'll Leave ya with some of Torres word on joing Chelsea and how he doesn't plan on going any where else!!! Here's to Sunday and an epic game and for what to come!

So, after this, there are no more steps forward. This is the top level. The target for every footballer is to try and play at one of the top-level clubs in the world, and I can do it now. I have to be very, very happy as I am. The last three or four days have been very hard for me, especially after everything I have lived in Liverpool.

"But, as I said before, I can say I'm a Chelsea player now. I'm really happy and I'm sure I am doing one big step forward in my career joining a club like Chelsea. This is a great club, a real responsibility and everyone is expecting great things about me and I'm prepared and ready for the challenge."

Golden Globes

Last night was the Golden Globes and already people know who won with the Social Network and Glee both winning big. However one thing people keep talking about is Ricky Gervais as host and his jabs at celebrities and presenters. I can understand where people are coming from but people I believe also have to lighten up especially since some of these comments have already been made or are worse ie Charlie Sheen. I don't think everything he said was right but as a comedian I guess it's your job. I don't think the comment made about Robert Downey Jr was appropriate but I think his recovery and joke to follow did a better job. Also his side joke at Steve Carrell I thought was funny but taking a jab at the man in charge of the Hollywood Foreign Press, Huge Heftner, and Scientology definitely got some buzz going in the room.

Although he has been getting a lot of attention some of the highlights/ my personal favorites of the show were
- Chris Colfer winning for Glee and his speech especially highlighting the bullying situation and saying he lost his heart between Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore
- Jane Lynch's speech about giving fans the time of day and the writter who writes her lines
- Glee winning and the speech that followed
- Claire Danes speech about Temple Grandin's work
-Colin Firth speech on being a mid-life crisis away from buying a Harley and how his wife provides inspiration
- Robert Downey Jr presenting and actress not presenting their best work until they have been with him.

Now you cannot talk about the globes without talking about the best dressed. Here are some of my personal favorites

On a side note it was announced that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have another girl to welcome into the family. Faith Margaret was born yesterday via a surrogate but are the biological parents and Owen Wilson is finally a dad too :)

Song Stuck in My Head

So I came across this through a friend and have been obsessed with the song. Its my the Freelance Whales and called Generator 1st Floor. Its a great tune to listen in the background and just chill. I just love it and have been listening to it on repeat so I wanted to share it with everyone considering in some places it is already Music Monday.

Lots to Discuss

So I haven't posted in a while but since the last time I posted there has been a lot that has happened in the Brit world, Football/Soccer world, X factor and somethings I am obsessed with.

1. World Cup Qatar 2022
Not only has this World Cup bid had a lot of controversy since it was announce that it would be hosting the World Cup but now more trouble has arisen. For those who don't know the host nation gets an automatic qualification however Qatar has never played in an official World Cup or really have a national team. Also in the summer the weather reaches to high humidity and heat to over 100 degrees which is obviously hard for players to play in. So the FIFA president has suggested to play it in the winter to which I say HELLZ NO!!! Both Arsene Wagner and the German National Team coach have made good points. They have stated that teams would have to rework their whole team schedules to accommodate the WC and in the winter it is the heart of the season. Also when the WC is held in the summer people are out and about watching it outside; no one will go out in freezing 10 degree temperatures to watch the games. Meaning low attendance and could be considered a failed WC. Obviously the FIFA board didn't think this though and should maybe reconsider their suggestion on the host nation although Qatars getting ready already. Bottom Line bad decision and hopefully they will not rework the schedule and make sure the stadiums are all enclosed with air conditioning which hopefully doesn't fail.

2. Footy Roundup
So it was officially announced Roy Hodgson was sacked as Liverpools manager and that Kenny Dalglish will be taking over on an interim basis. I think this is a god move but it worries me to who the next manager for LFC could be for next season. They have already gone though a lot of changes with new management and now a sacked manager. Granted the new management was an improvement and has gotten Liverpool out of the regulation zone but I'm hoping they will get better players. The players Hodgson brought in really have not made an improvement and are not franchise/big name players. So lets hope next year will be better for Liverpool and get to the top again since they have been struggling for two season. On a side note/sad not Stevie G got a red card in todays game vs Man United but I think a 1-0 lost is pretty good since it could have been a knock out.

Now to better news.... Chelsea scored 7-0 in the FA Cup vs Ipswich!!! Finally a score that is decent and higher than 1-0 or a tie. Also it looks like Frank Lampard is back which is great news to help us in the games to come. Two goals in a matter of minutes and a win to hopefully help us maintain our championship title which we won last year during the double.

3. X-factor US confirms another judge
So today it was announced that Will Smith will join the pannel meaning there is one more seat available next to Cheryl and Simon. Now when I heard that Will Smith was going to be a judge I didn't believe it at first especially since he has not released a song since Men in Black at least to my knowledge. I personally do not like the choice especially since I see Will Smith as an actor compared to a musician although we cannot deny the greatness which is the Prince of Bell Air. Since I am not pleased with the decision but will have to deal with it these are the pluses I see from him being a judge. His daughter who is whipping her hair back and forth is in the process of making an album and he is providing her with guidance and caution. Granted Willow Smith is under Jay-Z's label and is respected within the industry, this is just one way he can relate with the other contestants depending on what category he gets. Besides his daughter, Will Smith knows the work that goes into becoming a recording artist. Coming from Philly to try and make it in the business while also doing a television show he can give a realistic view to the contestant. Bottom line when I think of Will Smith I think actor not musician but who doesn't love Mr. Smith

4. Victoria Beckham is pregnant with her 4th child
David announced on his Facebook that he and Victoria are expecting their fourth child in the spring. They do not want to know the sex but we know that Victoria will have a C section due to having the boys the same way. Although I would love for VBecks to have a girl the odds are slightly in favor of a boy considering she has 3 sons. If it was a girl I would be excited especially to see how she would be dressed up and hopefully beat Suri Cruise when it came to fashionable children. Yes, I love Suri Cruise style at the beginning but I am tired of hearing about it and TomKat. No matter what the sex of the baby is it will have an interesting name.

In other baby news Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr finally had their baby. It was a boy but the name has not been announced. So we will have to wait and see.

5. Ryan Gosling on Ellen and Onesies
So Ryan was on Ellen this week and they did the whole interview while riding workout bikes. During the interview Ryan mentioned his new obsession Adult Onesies which he gave his family for Christmas and eventually gave the whole audience them as well as Ellen. Here is the video

Now I have wanted a Onesie for purposes of comfort and a joke. For the last couple of years my friends and I have gone to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and I half joke that I will show up in a onesie. You would also think that when a movie is happening that merchandise would be available everywhere. Wrong! For Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 all I could find, granted cute and a decent Halloween costume was a Where the Wild Things Are Onesie. So I am still on the lookout from my Harry Potter Adult Onesie

I'm Going to the Royal Wedding

So it is official I am going to the Royal Wedding in April. I am planning on going with my friend Alex for her birthday and then staying with their family friend in London. We will most likely go out and be with the crowd although we won't be able to see them but that doesn't matter. To be part of the atmosphere, say we were there, and get tacky souvenirs will just be some of the highlights. Also Alex's friend is making a whole event invitations, cakes with different fillings, and then different teas to celebrate Alex's birthday and the royal occasion. The china detail has been let out and the big controversy is that Kate or Catherine as she will become to be named will be getting to the church via a car and not carriage. The wedding will said by three different people and Sir Paul McCartney is invited to sing at the wedding.

Both Alex and I are very excited!!! We may also plan to catch a game possibly Chelsea or Arsenal due to being in London and teams both of us follow closely. Although it isn't a 100% certain we will be able to see a game especially since we are there for such a short amount of time and games are expensive especially due to the currency exchange and it is a sporting event. In addition, when I posted on both my Twitter and Facebook people kept asking if I was serious but are all jealous but a few thought I legit got an invitation to be inside Westminster. I wish that could be possible and I love how people though I had the power to get inside but I don't know royal leaders and although I'm from Chicago and the Obama's are from here they have not been invited and no invitation was sent towards me. :( I doubt any of the public will be able to be inside unless they are the choir boys to bad my voice is awful.

Finally, both Alex and I are hoping air prices go down especially since at the current moment there are multiple European air deals til April 12 but since we are going around Easter weekend prices will mostly rise up and there is a chance that prices could rise because of the Royal Wedding. Then there is the problem of taking time off and approving it by my mother who thinks the idea is amazing but that much time off might not be possible. No matter what I am going to go and it will be one of the amazing events of 2011.

THE X FACTOR - Teaser (Coming Fall 2011)

Lots of Obsession News

So there is much to talk about so lets get to it.

1. Breakups and Makeups
So yes, this is a day old but Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal have broken up after a three month relationship. Apparently it was the media attention and age difference however if anything I think it was moving to fast. The thing that will be interesting to see what song she will write out of it if any. She has written songs about previous breakups ie. Joe Jonas (another person who is probably moving to fast in a relationship by moving in with Ashley Greene) John Mayer (if that really happened) and then there is speculation on other songs. Don't you think at one point either Taylor wont write about her relationships because people might be afraid about the song. I love her and her songs but it will be interesting to see what will come.

Cheryl Cole and Derek Hough make it official they are dating. Now to those who don't know who Cheryl Cole is, she was in a major pop girl group Girls Aloud and has recently had two single albums while also judging on X-factor where the last two seasons both her acts won. Both her and Derek did her Music video Parachute but have dismissed rumors that they were dating until this New Year where she was pictured with him and apparently he gave her a diamond bracelet.

Rumors that broke a million teenage girls is that Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are an item and were seen kissing. OH MY GOD!!!! WHAT??? Let's send Selena death threats so she won't date Justin. Yes the teenage girl universe did that. You got to love how the minds of sobbing screaming girls who like a guy who practically wears a mop and clothes to big for him go all hey wire when rumor has it Justin is dating someone.

Then a million other people got engaged due to it being a New Year. Resse Withersoon got engaged to an agent Jim Toth after dating for over a year. Natalie Portman is engaged and has a baby on the way. Kelly Pickler eloped, Valerie Bertinelli finally married her boyfriend and then in one of the weirest of marriage life Shania Twain married her best friends husband, the best friend who ran away with Shania's ex-husband. Overall I'm excited for Reese's and Natalie's wedding and dresses especially Reese's because her style is so great and it will be interesting to see how her children are incorporated and of course, Ryan, her ex-husband has given his blessing and well wishes.

2. What the hell is going on in Football aka Soccer??
First off how the Bloody Hell did Chelsea get in the position they are right now in the table when they won the double last year and have lost over the last 10 games especially to lower ranked teams. (Arsenal not considered part of this category and brutal game) Not only that but Chelsea will be winning and then lose the lead ie Aston Villa or lose games 1-0 like today versus Wolves. Now Ancelotti helped us win the double last year, did a good job picking up after the year of changing coaches from Scolari, to Avram Grant, to Hiddink and of course it was golden during the Mourinho area but I had faith that Ancelotti might be the next best thing. Chelsea are now 5th in the table and due to the recent performance it doesn't look like were moving up the board. Who knows what will change it around but discussion of Ancelotti being sacked is there considering its one of the worst performances in 10 years. I think when Lampsy gets in full form and Drogba gets fully recovered from malaria (his excuse in my opinion) I think we can start seeing some W's. However I think the sacking of Ray Wilkins has had a major impact on the club more than they expected.

Along the lines of sacking Roy Hodsons has officially been sacked as manager of Liverpool. Although Liverpool are under new management and are no longer in regulation I think this was a good choice. I couldn't see the relationship with the players like there was under Benitez (granted he was sacked from Liverpool and just got sacked from Inter). Rumor has it Kenny Dalglish is to be installed as Caretaker boss. No matter who takes over Liverpool have definitely had a bumpy road and I for one hope that Chelsea don't go that route.

Finally, David Beckham will most likely go to Tottenham Hotspurs on loan from the Galaxy in hopes to prove Capello wrong that he deserves a spot on the team for the Euros. Also I hope with Becks working with Harry Redknapp, Becks will give positive reviews that people will consider Redknapp for future England manager considering the past England NT managers have been foreigners and many other national teams have managers from their own countries.

3. Starbucks changes its Logo

Who doesn't love indulging in a Starbucks now and again? Yes, they are expensive, but convenient and have a somewhat staple look when one carries them on the go. However in the last couple of years Starbucks has suffered due to the price of a cup of coffee, the bad economy, growing to fast and getting away from its original goal of people enjoying a coffee and relax. As one of professors said when you go to Starbucks you are not paying for a cup of coffee but an experience which is true. Well due to Starbucks economic troubles by shutting down stores, laying off people, and competition from McDonalds it has decided to change its logo also known as a brand image. The lady is now in green and no where does it mention the words Starbucks. Personally the logo looks cheap but they are keeping with the green which I like compared to last year when they decided to go back to their original Pike Place logo in brown colors. Is this a good decision or will they go back to their staple logo they have now. Why change something when it is working? Schultz the CEO said the reasoning of dropping the name was looking at brands like Apple and Nike who dropped their name from their logo. It could work and they can be successful but when you have a brand that has a certain prestige one has to be careful about the look.

Case in point a few months ago some of you may or may not know Gap decided to change its logo to make it more connected to the digital age. There was a major backlash that they went back to the logo that everyone is familiar with. Besides Gap a perfect example is Pepsi and their other product lines like Gatorade doing everything G this G that. Pepsi's new logo does look cooler and it will always be second to Coca-Cola but when changing logos there has to be extreme caution.

4. X-factor US
The promos are coming out for X factor in the fall. There are about 5 second spots showing a city and the letter X. FOr instance, there is one in the desert, Seattle, Philly, and New York. Although we don't know who the judges will be who will be joining Simon we know that the sole sponsor will be Pepsi. This will rival one of American Idol's sponsors Coca-Cola however Pepsi are in talks to be integrated more within the show instead of having their logo on cups on the judges tables. Although it is going to be hard to wait til the fall I have started to ponder some things about the show.

So while X factor US is going on simultaneously X factor UK will be going on. So how will Simon help his acts... Skype? I feel like the travel will wear on him. He already got sick this year when traveling and One Direction were without a mentor till the live shows. Also will Cheryl Cole really be a judge on the show??? I would love for her to be on it more than anything and news outlets have said they Simon is furious they are not considering Cheryl but Cheryl's already bought a house in LA and had visa issues resolved for her to be on the show. Then will Simon really reunite with Paula--- Please no? Paula's semi still nut case in my mind.
Mariah Carey- Although I think she would be a possible good addition she is pregnant with twins and her last Christmas album was a dud, and her relationship with Nick Cannon is weird-- so hoping No there too

However I think Nicole Scherzinger I think would be a great addiction. She did great filling in for Dani and Cheryl during the live shows and had very good advice. I think her and Cheryl would be wonderful additions but we will have to wait

Surprises... one of the best things to do

Today I left Columbus and went to surprise my friend Jessie in Akron. She had no idea I was coming and luckily she was there because I almost went two hours out of my way to see no one. So how did I do it well I texted her when I was an hour away for her to call me and finally got her on the phone when I was 10 minutes away. Then I surprised her by knocking on the door when she was scared it was someone who was going to do something bad. We got to chat and go to Starbucks before I did the 3 hour treck to Dayton to see my college roommates. Went to Applebee's and now sipping back wine just enjoying each others company but we did read sextrology tweets (@sextrology). For starters I don't believe in astrology and dont feel like it ever applies to me however for some reason I feel like the tweets from here apply to me and my roommates feel like they apply to them as well. Feel free to check it out...

I leave you with the best way to pull off a surprise all these I have done
1. Make sure the person is out of where you are holding a surprise and pick them up because you are randomly in their neighborhood and take them back to the party place and have people and cake there
2. Come unannounced to their house when you know they will be their or think they will be there.---- As a cute factor dress up as a present, come with a friend they know and they are expecting so when they see you they will be surprised even more.
Also call them to make sure they are home and say " hey did you get my package" tell them to check outside and then there they will be.

Use on friends who you know will be around and have an amazing unforgettable face. Not only will they be surprised but so will you.

OH-IO

Today I made the treck to Ohio to drop my brother off at Ohio State and visit some of my friends who I went to school with. Driving back to Ohio now is a weird experience since graduating because to some degree it feels like a 2nd home that I no longer live in but exit signs and some areas I know pretty well. Furthermore, driving to Columbus and then not going directly to Dayton to go back to school is even weirder now since Dayton doesn't go back to school for another week so people I know who go there are not even on campus.

Although the ride is long, 6 hours it went by fast because we each drove two hours each when regularly we drive the whole way or 3 hours each. One thing that helped make the ride go fast was finishing the first Harry Potter book again to help me reach a goal of finishing all 7 books before the last installment of the movie. Where I will probably have tears knowing there will not be another book granted that JK Rowling says she could/ maybe will write a new book. Who knows? By reading the book though, it makes me wish there was a Wizard world and I was not a muggle which is why when driving through the country side where you can see all the stars it seemed like there was something going on like in the movies when they travel in the sky. Anyways apparently there is a meteor shower tonight but it was suppose to happen at midnight which I know that isnt what I saw but that would have been cool. Only thing about the stars I know where/ what the litte dipper looks like, difference between stars and planets and the Cassiopeia constellation story because what was mentioned in the movie Serendipity.

Ok well Im just blabbing on so Goodnight to anyone who stumbles upon this

New Year New Resolution

So I started this blog in May just before I left for Europe and documented most of my trip however the plan of the blog originally was to continue to post but as one can see there has not been a post since July which is why one of my New Years Resolutions is to blog in 2011.

Although I do not know who will read this and at the moment the people who are following are my friends. I think it would be interesting to see if I have a following and if anything comes of it. Considering we are in a digital age of Facebook, Twitter, and blogs where we let everyone know what we are doing even if they do not know who you really are fascinates me. So lets get started.

2011 what will it bring? For starters today was 1/1/11 which although it wasn't consistently the same numbers it has all ones which means so many people will probably go crazy to get married or other events on 11/11/11. Also for those out there it is one more year to apparently the world will end in 2012 which will probably bring a whole other Y2K scare.

Anyways that is to worry about for a later date. I am looking forward to 2011 because there are many exciting events happening. The biggest in my book is
The Royal Wedding: Happening on April 29 or in 117 days between William and Kate. (Catherine.... yes she's changing her name to a totally different spelling) Not only is it going to be a holiday in the UK the world will be watching; including me who will be glued to the tele. If It was not expensive to fly to London or I was personal friends of Will and Kate, I would be there in a hear beat. So if anyone has a plus 1 and needs a date, I would be more than happy to accompany you.

X- factor Comes to the US: Now you may or may not know about X-factor but to start off one thing you need to know is I am not the biggest reality show person and I dont watch American Idol. So you ask why are you excited then for X-factor? Well I have watched two season of X-factor UK and Youtube clips of the 2008 season and am obsessed with it to where I devoted my Saturdays and Sundays to watching the streams online. I watched the 2009 season where Joe McElderry won and Olly Murs came in 2nd. ( will explain Olly later) and this season 2010 where Matt Cardle won and practically won every week. It is still to be determined who the judges will be besides Simon Cowell but it is rumored that Cheryl Cole will possibly be a judge and Dermot O'Leary might MC aka be the Ryan Seacrest of the show. Now for those who don't know the Judges mentor the contestants in four categories groups, girls, boys, and over 25s/28s its up in the air what the cut off age will be in the states but up til this year the cut off had been 25 so in the US it could be 25 or 28. So I'm excited to see who the contestants will be, how the mentors do and who they will be with what category, and if they will do an Xtra factor where the audience get to know the contestants better and ask the judges questions. It is one of my favorite parts and one thing I am looking forward to in 2011 although I will have to wait till September.

Big Names to come out of X-factor UK are Leona Lewis and JLS, both have broken into the US market with Leona making a bigger mark

Side Note: SO who is Olly Murs well he came in 2nd in 2008 and is from Essex. He was the contestant I was backing toward the end. However, being in the states and couldn't vote for him I just had to watch as a bystander. However he recently came out with an album and I just bought it and it came a few days ago and when I got it, it felt like Christmas all over and a wierd indescribable feeling due to not many people knowing about Olly and that he is from a reality show.

The Final Harry Potter Movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II: Part I was genius and I loved the books however I have not re-read them since the movies have come out so I am rereading all of them till the final installment comes out in July. So I am looking forward to falling in love with Harry and reconnecting with my inner nerd.

Starkid Production of Starship: So some of you may or may not know about Starkid but they are a production company made up of Michigan graduates mostly who put on this little play which has become a viral sensation called : A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel which are Bloody Brilliant/Totally Awesome!!! The guy who plays Harry is Darren Criss who is now staring in Glee as Blake also known as Kurt's potential love interest. Anyways he wrote all the songs to Starship and did most of the music to both Harry Potter Musicals so I am looking forward to those and new songs stuck in my head. So one thing that is special about Starship is Starkid are only playing in Chicago and it is already sold out and we have tickets. So Very Excited!!!

Barcelona vs Manchester United: Barcelona FC is coming to the states to do an American tour and will be playing Manchester United in Washington DC in August. Not only will it be an epic game but I will be traveling with my footy buddies Alex and Julie to DC to watch the game and see our friends Katie and Kaitie who both now live in DC so not only will we see some of our favorite players on Barcelona but get to spend time with our friends who we do not get to see that much. Oh also because it isnt a big international year most of the main players are likely to come to the states. So many good looking men and would die if I saw Messi, Puyol, Villa, Pique, Rooney ( although he is on Man U) in the states.

Having a Full-Time Job: Since graduating in May, backpacking through Europe and having a part time job I feel like 2011 is my year for my job. Where will I be I do not know but I am excited to see what comes and what I can find. Being a University of Dayton graduate with a marketing degree living in Chicago I have no idea if I will end up somewhere else or what I will be doing with my degree since one of my interests of social media is blossoming.

So These are just some of the few things I am looking forward to in 2011. The things to expect from the blog is talk on football also known as soccer but I refer to it how the majority of the world relates to it. Things in the British culture because I have an obsession with the UK and am definitely an Anglophile and then anything fascinating my mind at the moment, hense the name of the blog.

Happy New Year and to a great 2011
